I listened to all of them saying Adhaan. Most of the kids knew it. Please ask your kids at home if they know Adhaan. We then went on to read iqama. They were told the difference between the two and the meaning also. The class went smoothly. Their home work for next week is to memorize and I request the parents to help them please.

We started to review the 11 points of True Islam.  It was a slow start as we only got through the first two, but we focused on the importance of being able to respond to claims being made in the public.  It is imperative if anyone goes out preaching, that they actually understand what it is they are preaching.  I played the part of “devils advocate” making claims and each student had to defend.  We reviewed the different arguments this way and ensured that they could handle the pressure as well.  I believe the students enjoyed it.
Due to the way the class progressed, we also discussed how non-ahmadi muslims do not even have these arguments at their disposal and they in fact abrogate the faith by practicing opposite what the prophet (saw) and the Quran instruct.  One example was having young boys fast all 30 days of Ramadan.  I attempted to promulgate the idea that we, as Ahmadi Muslims, must continuously express our gratitude for what Allah has given us without even asking (being born ahmadi and not having to live in ignorance!!)

We spent our class time reviewing the projects that each of the students had been assigned from last time. Some students had put in a lot of effort and did well with their presentations and speeches. We had one student who did not bring their homework while another one did not do it at all. I would request all parents to make sure they are sitting down with their children, ensuring that they are making use of this opportunity to do their background research on the topic and coming up with the responses to the assignments they are given.

I started the class by listening to the assigned prayer for homework. All of them did a pretty good job, so kudos to the parents and of course the girls.  The next part we read the 11 points one by one and went over the jist of what they meant and discussed with the girls what they thought they meant.  For next class they have to write points on the topic they were given and present.  I noticed the girls were a little reluctant on presenting, if the parents can discuss that, because I think these presentations are a great motivator and they build confidence in our children.

For the parents: Looking forward to all your children presenting next class Jzk!
Contemporary Studies – Nadia Mohammad
The girls were given the opportunity to present their ‘Science & the Holy Quran’ projects. Some of the students’ work was visually interesting and well thought out while others did not put forth the effort that was warranted. Subsequently, we had a class discussion about expectations and putting in effort towards learning is never a waste of time. Jzk to those parents who worked with their student to accomplish this learning goal, please keep up the support!

Next class we will be using class time to record a video in which each student will discuss their assigned point from the ‘True Islam’ campaign. Ensure that your child has two talking points ready for next class.
